HomeMade Roasted Pumpkin Seeds From the Beginning

 Hello Beauties,

One of the things I love most about fall is Pumpkins!!! Pumpkin everything is awesome. Any other time, I cannot stand it. Weird I know. One of my favorite things to make is pumpkin seed because they are the best small snack that's healthy and yummy for on the go snackage lol.

Ingredients

Pumpkin
Water
Sea Salt
Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Equipment

Knife
 2 Bowls
Colander
Pot
Stirring Spoon
Wax Paper
Baking tray

Directions:

Gutting the Pumpkin
  1. Cut the top of your pumpkin off with a sharp knife (be very careful)
  2. Gut the pumpkin by pulling out all of the insides
  3. Separate the orange guts from the seeds as best you can.
  4. Put all of the seeds into a bowl
  5. Fill the bowl with water to help you separate the guts from the seeds
  6. Throw the guts out and put the seed in a colander to help drain all the water

  1. Boil the pumpkin seeds in salt water for 15 mins
  2. Drain the seed in a colander
  3. Do NOT forget this step ( I did and it took longer to cook) Wipe the seeds off with a paper towel so that they are no longer wet.
  4. Spread seeds onto a baking sheet and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil
  5. Sprinkle as much salt as you like depending on how salty you would like it.
  6. Roast seeds 325F* for 10 mins or until darker

Hope you enjoyed this. I love pumpkin seeds so much and its better to use it instead of throwing it out when carving a pumpkin.  I did of course make a few mistakes because I haven't made any in a couple of years; but that's ok. I did also forget to take a picture of the end result because I had somewhere to be and I was running late. So please excuse my grosslookingness in the picture above.

Leave a comment Telling me your favorite Fall snack and any food request you have for me in the future.

Until Next Time..................................

  11. Thanks for Sharing this Tyana. Great job on providing so much details. If I carve my own pumpkin this year, it would be the "Check Engine" light of my car - since that's what scares me the most LOL.
