Hello Beauties,

I hope everyone is having a great week so far. It has been crazy awesome for me. I have never been more in love with a city as I am with New York. It is honestly the best decision I have ever made. I know my relatives are worried about me being in a big city by myself but for right now, I can't picture myself anywhere else. Everything is just so beyond perfect.

Even the things that I thought were going to be hard, like riding the subway by myself, or navigating through New York without getting lost. Of course, being me, I have gotten a little lost doing both. But when you get lost is when you learn the most about yourself. For example, if you can speak up and ask strangers for directions; or if your gonna instantly freak out and have a panic attack or if you can just breathe and accept things as they are.

The first day was just a little bit of crazy. I left the dorm a little bit earlier than most people in my dorm because I wanted to get Starbucks and be there early for orientation.Even though I got lost on the way to the Building, Google maps literally became my best friend in that moment (plus I got Starbucks lol). Thank god I left early or I would have been screwed. There were people who were completely lost or came super duper late.

My first class was Fashion Field Trip. We went to the Macy's at Harold Square. We were there to learn about the guy who designs the Store windows. I know that that probably sounds super lame but if you have ever been to Macy's during the year and have seen there windows, they are freaking amazing. Especially during the Christmas season, they have the best windows in the world.

It was so cool to hear about all the behind the scenes thing that goes on. They can completely revamp the entire store windows in less than 24 hours. Which is crazy when they take up an entire block and then some. Being me I asked a million questions.

Some things I learned:

  1. They plan their windows about a year and a half in advance, especially their Christmas windows.
  2. They not only design their own windows, but create kits for all the windows in all the Macy around the US.
  3. The San Francisco Flagship has an adoption event in their windows every year, and people adopt the animals right out of the window.
  4. They rent out some of their Broadway spaces to different designers.
  5. People travel from all over the world to see the windows
  6. they try and reuse a lot of their props.

I loved everything about it even thought that's not a career I wouldn't pursue but it was amazing learning about everything that goes on.

Once we cam back we had lunch but we got out a little bit before everyone else, and I was hungry and was in no mood to wait for anyone so I walked all the way to Panera's (which is a 15 minute walk when your speed walking lol). I didn't mind the walk, it gave me a chance to think of everything that I have learned earlier. The Panera's was super fast paced and had my food ready within minutes which is really awesome. I called my mom while I ate because she was on her way back to NC.
I walked back to the class building and got there 5 minutes before class stared which is really good lol.

My second class was very different from my first (if you get bored and can't finish the rest of this post, I understand lol its freaking long. For one thing lol The professor loves to curse, which is actually really funny. I personally don't mind because my mom curses like a sailor (sorry mom). We immediately went into talking about what was going to happen and wasted no time. The Class is all about Fashion Styling. We have to find fashion trends for a magazine we are doing at the end of the week. In class we got to watch the September Issue, which is one of the best thing that I have ever watched in my life. If you love fashion and Magazines you def have to check it out. We we're assigned groups and had some homework but it honestly wasn't that bad.

On the way home, I walked with my group. I had to pick up a smaller notebook because my big one didn't fit in my back pack. Once there I realized that there was a Taco Bell right down the block from where I was staying. I freaking love taco bell so my day was completely made. I of course ate there for dinner.

Hope this wasn't too long for you guys. If it is let me know in the comments and I'll shorten it lol.
