Liquid Lipstick: Haul | Comparison | Review

Friday, July 15, 2016

Hey Babes!!

I am so excited about this post. It's been in the works for about a week now and has taken a lot of time but it is totally worth it.

I went a little ham online when I saw that all of my fav makeup websites were having restocks at the same time and I thought that it would be a good idea to try them all out and do a comparison/haul/rate/swatch.

Before seeing my review, please keep in mind that all makeup companies are different and just because one product might have a bad formula, the majority of them won't. Most makeup companies start out with the same base formula for their liquid lipsticks and by adding in pigment, it can change everything.

**I wore every single lipstick for a full day to see the full effect and recorded my thoughts and opinions in a notebook.

This is how I rated all of the lipsticks:

  1. transfer-proof
  2. if they only require one dip of product covers both lips
  3. fully pigmented
  4.  cracks
  5. comfortable
  6. lightweight or heavy
  7. stains the lips after taking it off
  8. reapplication necessary
  9. streaky
  10. dries completely

Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipstick: Truebrown
Lip kit: $29 | Liquid Lipstick $17 | Liner $14

Rating: 9/10

Pros: You only need one layer and you don't have to dip your brush in multiple times. Very Comfortable and Long wearing. Fully pigmented and not streaky at all. You only need to reapply after a full day of eating and drinking.

Cons: Slightly Cracks on the inside of the lips.

**Side note: the liner does not change anything about the way it looks. I wore it one day with liner and another day without. Using it without liner will make it look exactly the same and have the same effect as using it.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick: Unicorn Blood
Liquid Lipstick $18

Rating: 9/10

Pros: It has great pigmentation and only requires one layer of product. Super comfortable and long lasting with no cracking. Very little reapplication needed and only at the end of the day.

Cons: Does Transfer and a little sticky.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick: Lolita
Liquid Lipstick $20

Rating: 8/10

Pros: Only requires one layer. Very Universal and can be mixed with other colors. Super pigmented.

Cons: Sticky, transfers and doesn't fully dry.

Liquid Lipstick: $6

Rating: 8/10

Pros: True Liquid Lipstick with amazing pigmentation. Goes on cleanly with out any streaks. Doesn't transfer when eating or drinking.

Cons: extremely drying. Cracks on the inside of your lips after a while.

Liquid Lipstick: $18

Rating: 8/10

Pros: Much softer and creamier that I thought. Doesn't crack or transfer and super comfortable. Completely dries after a long time on.

Cons: Goes on sheer and needs a lot of layering to get that perfect color. Not a true liquid lipstick and doesn't fully dry. Needs reapplication after a couple of hours.

**For the full effect and to show off all go the "metal" use a black liquid lipstick or liner underneath.

Liquid Lipstick: $7

Rating: 7/10

Pros: Super freaking pigmented. Looks different. Dries Nicely.

Cons: Weird cracks on the inside of your lips. Needs layer and takes more than one dip of product. Can be a little streaky. It does transfer when eating and needs reapplication after a few hours.

Liquid Lipstick: $6

Rating: 6/10

Pros: Super Freaking Pigmented!!! Doesn't streak and goes on clean. Doesn't transfer

Cons: Tries out your lips completely, and very heavy when you initially put it on. Wearable but not comfortable. Cracks on the inside of your lips. Stains your lips even when you take it off.

I always have to have my lipstick. Sometimes I have more than one shade: start with one color for the morning, one for night. Sometimes I have a couple shades just in case I need something more powerful for the day. L'Wren Scott
