Hey Babes,

This post is going to be very different from my usual stuff. There is so many amazing things going on in my life and I just wanted to share it with all of you!!

Basically, starting from the beginning, I used to live in this super small town in North Carolina. I absolutely hated it, and I knew that the minute I got the opportunity to leave I would. Don't get me wrong, I cherish all the friends I've made and all the memories we share but being there made me feel tied down. I felt like I wasn't living up to my full potential and that being there, I was wasting my time. The majority of my classmates decided to stay instate for school, and a handful of others decided to go out of state. While I understand and respect the fact that everyone has different dreams, being there wan't good enough for me. I wanted more out of life and I wanted to see everything that the world had to offer me.

My Goal had always been to move to New York City for college, and the minute I was able to, I did.
I'm proud to say that I got into one of the Top Fashion schools IN THE WORLD!!!! I know that sounds braggy, but I'm super proud of myself and am so excited for fall. Attending the Fashion Institute of Technology has been my dream for the longest time, and its finally about to come true.

Even though I knew I would be moving to NYC in the fall, that still wasn't enough for me. I began applying for internships left and right, beginning March 1st. Actually, a really amazing site to apply on is InternQueen.com. This is where I found my internship, and applying on the site, is soooooo easy. I applied to about 30 places because I knew my chances of even getting an internship was slim, because I was technically still in high school. I heard back from about five for interviews, but only got an offer from one. I was literally on cloud nine, especially since it was in NYC!!

My internship started exactly one week after I graduated, so I packed up my car and drove 10 hours to New Jersey the Sunday after graduation (I graduated on a Thursday). The drive was not that bad (I did run into a lot of traffic) but it was a very relaxing and an entertaining experience.
If you read the part about me driving to NJ, you're probably very confused right now. But to clear up your confusion, yes I do currently live in NJ and commute to work by train. Realistically that was the best decision because I can live with a family member rent free and save money.
I actually really enjoy commuting, even waking up early doesn't bother me at all. I usually follow the same routine every morning, because if I don't I will most definitely be late. Grabbing a coffee at Dunkin Donuts is an essential. I used to be a big Starbucks girl, and then I tried Dunkin for the first time and ohhhhhhh boyyyyyyy. Let me tell you, that was the best coffee I have ever had, and it was cheaper!! After grabbing my coffee though, I have about 20 minutes to kill because my office is only a twenty minute walk and I get off of the train at 8, so I will either chill in Dunkin or sit in the park and scroll through my emails.

I thought it would be super weird having a 9-5 job, just because it would make me feel like a real adult. But the day can go by super quick when you get lost in your work.

I work at a PR Company for different TV channels. I'm not going to say what it is, just for safety reasons but it is such an amazing place. We're located in a ginormous building in Midtown Manhattan. The office is smaller but the interns have their own work room which is great. Basically what I do is look through all the day's magazines and Newspapers to see what TV channels/ shows we work with and clip them. Clipping them requires me to scan in the article or snippet, and add it to our files on the computer through a word document. Then printing that, cutting the actual article out and filing it in the office. That usually takes a little bit, just because it's so much and we work with so many shows. Once that's done though, we have to virtually file online clips as well. Other things that we do include researching for the assistants and transcribing interviews and what not. It sounds like a lot, but it isn't that bad. I enjoy the work and would rather do that, than be fetching coffee or running ridiculous errands for someone. Everyone at the office is actually really nice and they don't treat me like I'm lesser just because I'm an intern. I don't have to dress up or anything, I mean obviously I want to look nice but as long as you don't look super duper casual, they don't care what you wear.
Money-wise, it's unpaid. Most internships are but I don't mind it. They reimburse you for travel and lunch, which is great.

Other things that I have been doing, is getting back into blogging. I let it go for a while because school became too much and I had  lot going on with graduation and what not. Obviously that's no excuse, but I'm trying to get it back to where it was before. So many companies have been reaching out to me lately and although I love having the opportunities, I've turned down a lot because I want my opinion and review to be genuine. I don't ever want to do it for the money or the free merch.
I've also been doing a lot of dorm shopping because I move in in a month. I am so excited about that!! I might even do a post about it.

I did just get a real job though, which in hindsight is kind of crazy considering that I'm about to start college in a month. I also have a work-study through the school, so managing my time is going to be interesting. School comes first, obviously but money is also a necessity.

But besides all of that, I'm just living and enjoying life right now. Going to concerts, different events and having fun. I can honestly say that I've never been happier and love what I'm doing. Moving away was the best decision for me and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.

I hope you all enjoyed this post. If you have any questions or requests for posts, just leave a comment below and I will be happy to answer it.
