That One Time I Bought a $100 T-Shirt | Glitter Adventures

Hey Babes,

I realized that I haven't been recording my adventures since bring in New York, which is very sucky of me. Some how I have a knack for getting ripped into the weirdest, most random, and most fun adventures that end in the best memories. So now, I am going to leave them all here. Mostly for you, so you can learn from my mistakes and get some free advice, but also for me, so that I can look back and laugh at the crazy things I did in college.

So here it goes.... The time I bought a $100 T-shirt.

I love a good sale, I mean who doesn't?? As a broke college student with expensive tastes, I am always looking for a way to save money and score a good deal. So the minute my friend asked if I wanted to go to a sample sale, I said yes. I had never been to one, but always wanted to go. Whenever I pictured it , I always thought of the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic, where she goes to a sample sale, fights over a pair of Gucci boots with another woman, wins and ends up finding out they're made of 96% Acrylic and only 4%Cashmere. *Cue Buyers remorse*

I honestly didn't know what to expect, first of all it was Alexander Wang, so it had to be good, and it was in Soho (prime location).

The first thing that should have told me that it wasn't going to be a good day, was the fact that it was raining like a mother******* and I couldn't find my umbrella. Yea not fun. I was also underdressed, so not only was I soaked, but I was also freezing. *Cue Hypothermia* At least I had my rain boots, so I wasn't worried about the gross uncomfortable feeling of water seeping through my shoes (sorry Andrew).

The sale opened at 9 and thats when we arrived. Let me also remind you that I had class at 10:30, so while I was excited to be there, I also wanted to get back in time because we were doing testing.

Andrew and I waited on line for about an hour, which wasn't as bad as it seems. Lets be honest, I've waited on line for much longer, for much less. The line was outside, so by the time we made it in, Andrews shoes were squishing with every step, and I couldn't feel my fingers. But it was ok, because we were at an Alexander Wang sample sale.

There were rows and rows of clothes everywhere, women's upstairs and mens downstairs. I followed Andrew downstairs because I love mens clothes, just as much as women's and they always seem to be more comfortable. The selection was of course much smaller, but I still wanted to buy everything I saw. A particular shirt stood out to me. It was long sleeve and black and had QR codes on it. I hadn't seen anything like it. I pointed it out to Andrew and he loved it as well. I left it in its place and kept looking around. I hadn't gone there looking to buy anything but after seeing everyone run around with piles of clothes in their hands I decided that I wanted to be like them. Yea bad idea. Signs were posted everywhere of what the items cost but they weren't very specific and a little misleading.

Once we finished looking downstairs, we made our way back upstairs where clothes covered every available surface, including the floor. I found a couple more items that I liked, one in particular was a stripped body con dress that continuously called my name. But it was probably $200, so I just blew it a kiss goodbye.

I had two items in my hand and I told myself that If one was too expensive, I would get the other but I had to get something. She scanned the blue top first, and told me it was $79, I laughed and said I would rather just get the black shirt. She scanned that and checked me out. " Your total is $99"....... and even though I'm saving for christmas, future trips and adventures..... i just said "ok"

So that ladies and gentleman, is how I ended up with $99, basic cotton black long-sleeved T-shirt.
The moment I walked out, I regretted the purchase. There are a million other things with more usefulness that I could buy myself. But no, instead, I buy 1 fucking t-shirt. Someone please take away my card.

Trust me, you don't have to tell me how much of an idiot I am, because I definitely know. I get pissed at myself every time I think about it, especially now that I am writing about it.

So advice time or even rules to live by:

Glitter Rule 1) Always show up to a place that is expensive with a game plan, and an exit strategy.

Glitter Rule 2) if there is even a moments hesitation, don't buy it, especially if they have a shitty return policy, or if they don't accept returns at all.

Also if anyone is looking to buy and black long sleeve Alexander Wang shirt for $99 let me know, ill be happy to sell mine.

Unfortunately, online company is scammed with scammers. On occasion the provider hires you freelance, or occasionally it is a site designer which orders the copy google At an identical time, if you decide on the most suitable company having excellent reviews and reputation, you will enjoy well composed works.

  3. That is a content for good personal blog! I’m really tired of endless blogs about “how good is this skirt, or that lipstick”. At last, I can read true story from true bloger! In this story you can feel true emotions instead of useless graphomania. 100 bucks I know how it hurts. My friend have perfect strategy for this type of situations, she just immediately making scene, blaming shop and all the workers. Then regardless to outcome, she just bail out from there. I’m not even sure how good reviews on Same day essay would be if she did them, but her strategy works most of the time.

I love reading the comments they make my day!!!
