Hey Babes,

Before arriving to Fez, you must know that there are two parts to the city. I did not find this out until I was on my way to the airport heading to Spain. But nevertheless, the Old Medina is still beautiful. The main difference between Fez and Marrakech, that I found, was that the shop keepers are more friendly. Because of this, it's easier to convince you to buy stuff. And yea, I bought a lot of things. Some weren't so bad, but beware if you ask them the price and they refuse to tell you or they say "don't worry about the price" thats always the worse. The one way they definitely get you, is by telling you that they have a great view of the medina on top of the building, and if you want to see it, you have to walk through the shops. If you don't end up buying something, you'll still have to pay a tip.

The one place I definitely had to go, was the tanneries. I had always heard so many things about them and I thought it would be so cool to see. This is where they dye the leather and the entire process takes 3 months!!!

Here are some of the leather goods from inside the shop, I ended up buying a cute little camel cross body, but the shop keeper was so sweet that he gave me a free wallet and two keychains!!

The rug shop was probably my favorite. Although I had been warned previously not to buy a rug, I couldn't resist myself when I saw the most beautiful navy blue color. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it wold be and they offered to ship it to me.

Overall, It was a really good day in Fes. I did go over my budget, but at the same time: Who knows when I will be in Africa again??
